Lace Making – Wow!

I went to my first craft fair on Saturday, at the Perth showgrounds. The event was tailored for an older crowd than the hip, young crafter that I am (well, it’s all relative), but a one thing caught my eye:

Lace Making

Wow – I can’t imagine having the patience to make lace. Isn’t it pretty?

All that attention to detail and fine work – this is one of those arts that people just don’t have time for. So sad…

At least there is the Australian Lace Guild promoting the art (with a quarterly magazine and correspondence courses). I think I’ll stick with crochet and sewing for the time being. Maybe one day, I’ll have the time and patience for lace making, when there’s not to so many sticky little fingers wanting to touch everything 😉

  1. I agree, WOW! It’s funny, but I’ve never actally thought about people making lace. Kinda silly, I know. This looks amazing and like something I’d never be able to do!!

  2. Thank you so much for this post. I want to let you know that I posted a link to your blog in Creative Busy Bee Craft Inspirations, under the Page 5 post on Aug. 13, 2012. Thanks again.
