Kids Clothes Week Challenge Day 4/5

Confession: I didn’t do any sewing on Day 4. Gasp!

It was Little Miss’ birthday and nap time was spent decorating her cake and tidying up before a family dinner. I was exhausted after dinner (from spending most of the day breaking up arguments between the kids about the new toys), so there was no sewing after bedtime. Such is life!

That does mean I have photos of the Kokeshi Doll dress, bloomers and hairclip being worn by my little model (at last!):

With her play kitchen birthday present. And here’s the best shot I got of the bloomers:

And the hairclip:

The dress gapes a little at the front sometimes, but still looks very cute:

I hit the sewing machine (well serger mostly) for Day 5 to make Little Miss some pyjama pants:

The pattern is a shorts modification to my self-drafted bloomers and I did a lettuce edge along the bottom (first time for me! I think it turned out well).

I was debating whether to add a row of shirring on the legs. I’ll wait and see how they fit before I decide. The fabric is a jersey knit from stash – actually, leftover from making this baby sleeping bag (which I still haven’t written the tutorial for – what a bad blogger!).

I also cut out a pattern for a tank top for the pyjama top that I’m planning to sew tomorrow.

And lastly, here’s a couple more photos of the birthday girl (sorry, I can’t resist):

How’s your KCWC sewing going?
