Life after Whole30 (It’s OK to fall)

I last posted about my Whole30 adventure when I’d reached Day 30. I had more energy than I’ve had in years, my brain fog had cleared and I felt great. That was 3 weeks ago, and it’s time to update you on how I’m going – my life after Whole30!

After hitting Day 30, I wanted to keep going. To keep my energy up, and I had the big idea start exercising, to keep boosting my energy and focus, and improve my health. I wasn’t allowed to weigh myself during the program, but when I stepped on the scales, I’d dropped 3.5kg (just over 7lbs). It might not sound like much, but I was slender to start with, and my weight hadn’t been this low since Uni days (when I was playing a lot of netball).

Why not keep going?

But I was missing certain foods, and had a burger night with the school Mums on Day 31. I was curious to see how my body would react to the foods I had eliminated.

The Whole30 program has a reintroduction schedule to gradually reintroduce foods and test the impact on your body. I rearranged the order to suit my life (I wanted to eat a burger at burger night!). First we introduced non-gluten grains, then dairy, then legumes, and finally gluten-containing grains.

That first day, I had my usual breakfast (stewed fruit with coconut and flaked almonds), sushi for lunch and a burger with a gluten-free bun for dinner. The next day, I didn’t notice any change in my energy levels or brain-fogginess. Yay! Looks like I can occasionally have rice with my stir-fries (since I didn’t enjoy cauliflower rice).

And then the wheels fall off

This was the point when the wheels fell off. My kids had pretty bad colds the week or two prior, and I was doing well keeping them at bay. But not any more! It hit me big time. Together with sore muscles from exercising for the first time in a long time, I felt like rubbish.

Then I got a kidney infection, and felt even worse (and ended up on anti-biotics (blegh!), narrowly avoiding a trip to the emergency department).

I kept following the reintroduction schedule, but had no idea what was general sickness and what was food related. I should have stopped the reintroduction and started again when I was feeling better, but I really wanted to eat cheese, and have Friday night pizza, and eat chocolate, and other foods I’d missed. All a bit childish really!

Now I’m finally off the antibiotics (and on to the probiotics), but my diet has been very hit and miss. I’ve been “treating” myself with foods I know aren’t good for me, and taking the lazy food option, like toast for breakfast. My brain is feeling foggier, although at least it’s not as bad as it was.

So let’s get healthy again!

On the plus side, I feel more aware of what I’m doing and the choices I’m making. I miss the great feeling I had at the end of Whole30 and I want it back. So I’m getting back into it – focusing on eating a healthy breakfast and lunch, talking myself through the times when I want to spoil myself, and asking if there’s a better option (like spoiling myself with crafty time!).

I needed to fall to show myself where I want to be! And I can get back there.

And right when I needed it, a fabulous resource appeared – The Ultimate Healthy Living Bundle.

It’s the info and tools I need to get back on track – to know what to cook, to choose natural alternatives, and replace store-bought products with DIY options that work. It’s a bundle to make healthy living less stressful and more enjoyable.

The package includes over 90 digital products on topics like natural remedies, essential oils, real food recipes, paleo and allergy-friendly eating, fitness & weight loss and more. It even includes a bonus Craftsy class (and I love watching Craftsy classes!).

Besides being so incredibly helpful and inspiring, one of the things I like best about the bundle is the price. By offering the bundle for a short time only, you can access to over $2000 worth of amazing products for a huge 97% off!

Here’s how it works:

  1. Visit the Ultimate bundles website, take a quick look at all the goodness that comes in this package, then click “Get my copy now!” to go through the simple 3-step checkout process.
  2. You’ll receive an email with a login to the online access portal, where you’ll begin downloading your eBooks, signing up for your eCourses, and redeeming your free bonus products.
  3. Use the Getting Started Interactive Guides to pick the area you want to tackle first and start making healthy changes! The most important detail, though, is that this bundle is available for just 6 days! After Monday night, September 14th, the sale ends and you’d have to buy all of these products individually.

I’d hate for you to miss out, so click HERE to learn more or buy the bundle.

It’s even backed by a full 30-day guarantee, so you can know for sure that it’s right for you.

No one should put off a healthier lifestyle because it costs too much or they can’t get the help they need. Our family has felt so much better by making changes to the way we eat, the products we use, and how we take care of ourselves. It’s made all the difference and I want the same for you and your family.
