I really like the first fabric bundle because you have some fabric by Kate Spain. I had made a black and white cat quilt on a gray background that makes me smile. It was made in honor of my own black and white cat and because of that reason I love this quilt so much and it does bring a smile whenever I look at it. Thank you for being a part of the Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day and the chance to win that awesome bundle of fabric. Yes, we all love fabric so much and want to win fabric so very much more. Happy Holidays to you.

  10. The project I’ve sewn recently that makes me smile the most is the Little Red Riding Hood cape for my great-niece of 18 months. She joined her four-year old brother (the wolf), her mom (grandmother) and her dad (the huntsman) trick or treating for Halloween. My first effort was made of a shiny soft furry fabric knit that I decided to line with fleece so that it would be stable. It turned into a totally reversible coat that she’ll be able to wear when she grows a bit more — soft red fur on one side, nursery rhyme print fleece on the other, trimmed with the fur, hooded and all. My second effort was a simpler red fleece sleeveless cape.

  11. Any of the dresses I have made my 5 year old daughter. When she picks one to wear, it makes me feel great!

  12. I love to sew little animal characters out of my scraps. They are definately the things that make me smile the most out of all of the things I’ve sewn. They’re quirky and irregular and I love them. I like bundle B.

  13. As I am only starting my sewing “career” my first wearable skirt still makes me smile 🙂 I would love to work with bundle B, the colours are just completely my thing.

  14. I smile every time i make my grandson a pair of glow in the dark jammy bottoms….happyness04431@yahoo.com

  15. I think my current quilt has been making me smile a ton. Since I was little, I have always wanted to perfect the nine patch. I have recently gotten back into quilting, and I just finished all the blocks on a giant nine patch quilt for my mom. I can’t help but smile when I reminisce on how far I have come as a quilter.

  21. Really, anything that I am able to gift to someone else and it makes them smile. I absolutely love giving to others and see how much it means to them when they open up a gift that was made just for them 🙂 And, if I were to win, I would no doubt love either bundle but I can never pass on some lovely blue fabric so that’s definitely my favorite of the two.

  22. I have a paper pieced octopus that I love love love! I would love bundle B.

  23. I like both bundles, but I think like that that little blue flower print in B the best, so I will go with that. My favorite thing I have made. That is tough. I have a few quilts floating around the house that I have made. I think I am most proud of the one I finished most recently because I did all the quilting on the longarm myself and it came out great… my 2 year old daughter loves it too, as well as a lattice quilt that was the second one I ever made. I think the fact that she inexplicably loves that lattice quilt makes me love it even though the quilting is atrocious. I also really like the purse and wristlet I made for myself, and since I use them daily it always gives me a sense of “I made this!! and I can’t believe they came out great!”. Then there is the Supergirl doll I made my daughter and the fact that she absolutely loves it gives me warm fuzzies every time I see her sleeping with it, hugging it close while she runs around, or (like this morning) insisting it eats breakfast with her.

  24. Barbara O. says:

  27. One of my favorite projects was a stuffed dragon I sewed for my nephews.

  28. There’s an abandoned zip pouch sitting on the side in our bedroom. I paper pieced a Tardis and made it into a pouch for my husband. I gave it to him on his birthday with tickets for the Dr Who Experience. His reaction was “what is it?” You should have seen the look on his face, he was utterly bewildered. To this day he doesn’t know what to do with it!
I’d love to win bundle b

Now, whenever we chat, she always asks if I am wearing my apron! I told her last week that I am so grateful she made sure me and my sisters knew how to sew! Both fabric bundles are just adorable, no preference. If I win, I will surely make a project where I can give one to my mother.

  72. I haven’t sewn much, but the part of sewing that makes me smile is putting the binding on the quilts. It’s that extra cherry on the sundae that makes it so beautiful…

The two of them would each cuddle in their quilts while visiting. She died a year ago and that quilt made her so happy!! She couldn’t believe that someone she didn’t even know had made it for her. 90. A sweet little pair of owls I just finished yesterday. 🙂

  91. That makes me smile? Gosh, I haven’t thought this for a long while. I went to school at Cal Poly Pomona and as a liberal studies major had to pick a class in a college I hadn’t taken a class in. That seemed to boil down to engineering or agriculture. I found out that sewing was an option in agriculture so signed up for beginning sewing. Only the other students all were accomplished sewers. The teacher didn’t have time to give me the help I required – so my mom called her up and got permission to help me. We had to follow the Voque techniques for putting things together. I had to make a long sleeved shirt, with buttons down the front on the cuffs, two pockets and probably more. My mom would do one side and I did the other. The finished product was so funny – it reminded me of an I Love Lucy episode where she was knitting an uneven sweater. Don’t remember my grade. My mom removed my stitches and redid the shirt so I could wear it. What a funny looking project. I can’t believe I let my mom talk to the professor – but do believe she would do that to help me out. Thanks for the memory! And thanks for the chance for either bundle

  92. I recently made pillows and purses for my daughter-in-law and grandchildren from my son’s jeans. He passed away last may. It made me smile to be able to make a keepsake for each of them to remember their husband and father. It also gave me time to reflect on his 41 years of life – the good and the bad. Guess it helped me grieve.

Bundle B would be my choice because the colors are soothing.

Years ago my daughter, aged 5, designed her own dress. Together we made it a reality. It was most definitely a one off, quirky comes to mind, but her joy and happiness could not be denied. We had so much fun together too – bonus.

  104. Marissa C. says:

My favorite quilt would have to be my first. I made my toddler son a quilt of the solar system (I’m an aerospace engineer, so there’s a lot of space themed items in our house). For only being three years old, he really understood the value of my making something special for him. He sleeps in it everynight, rolled up like a sausage. Since it was my first quilt it’s far from perfect, but the imperfections make it so much more personal =)

    I love Bundle 2, I’m a sucker for blues!

    (marissa.marcas (at) gmail.com)

  105. I’m not much of a quilter (yet!), but I’ve made one messenger bag a few years back – front panel is all cross stitched, the rest hand sewn. It’s pretend patchwork – all kinds and colours of different squares in black grid.

Both bundles are nice and would be appreciated. If I had a choice, I’d pick bundle A as I have less of those colors either because I always use them up or don’t have enough of them. I made two giraffe quilts this summer and gifted them to two grandchildren this summer. I smile whenever I look at their pictures.
