My husband has been in a generous mood lately and decided that I could use a few new toys (actually he wanted a fancy computer for his bicycle…). So firstly, I got one of these:
OK, the reason I got this one is my husband spilt coffee all over his laptop quite a while ago, and the screen hasn’t worked since. We’ve connected it to a monitor in our study, but our little boy doesn’t like Daddy being upstairs while all the toys are downstairs, so it wasn’t getting much use. So now darling hubby gets to use my laptop and I play with my netbook. I think he ends up the winner, but I like my cute little toy!
Then, the grand new toy arrived by courier this week – a Canon EOS 50D digital SLR camera.
I’ve never used an SLR camera before, so I’m a little intimidated by it at the moment (and one of the lenses is on back-order as well so I’ll have to wait to really test it out). I’m really excited about learning to take great pictures – not quite sure when that’s going to be!
So what was the first thing I took a photo of with my new toy? Fabric of course!
Robert Kaufman Monaluna Fabric, Mingle, Leaf Green Squares
For bedroom nesting, the piece de resistance was meant to be my son’s big boy room, with homemade doona cover and decorations. Unfortunately, the fabric I ordered took forever to arrive (and I think one bundle is lost in the mail). And worse, it was the stripey fabric that is to be the centre-piece of the quilt, so I haven’t been able to buy some of the coordinating block colours either. So the big boy room will either appear in the last month of nesting (Stuff for Baby, and new Big Bro), or maybe I’ll do a special feature week sometime before then. See how the rest of my nesting goes…
Hope everyone has had a great week! I’ve got a great tutorial on the way this week, so I hope you’ll stop by!
