Yesterday, I hit my new craft room at nap time with the plan to sew a quick project to share with you today. I cut out my fabric, and sat down at my overlocker (serger), and grrr…
My overlocker isn’t working. It sounds like it’s jammed somewhere. I spent all of nap time trying to clean it and find the jam. No luck! So a wasted nap and I’ll have to get it serviced (and hopefully we can claim it from insurance for the move).
Lesson of the day: give your overlocker a good clean before you box it up and move! There was heaps of fluff, thread and fabric bits in there – oops!
I should have gone old school and finished the project on my sewing machine, but I was too annoyed (and ran out of nap time). Something for the weekend…
So no fun project to share today, but instead I’ll give you a quick glimpse at my new craft space (well, actually a whole room – woo hoo!):
It’s located between the kitchen and family area, which is just perfect to get in some quick crafting and still be close to the kids.
Excess kids toys and some computer gear are in there too, but I’ve still got lots of space!
The furniture is a hodge-podge of things we’ve bought over the years: IKEA desks and shelves, an old tall boy, a dodgy filing cabinet. I’ve got a few ideas for how I want to set it up, but don’t think I’ll be doing that for a while. We’ll call these the before pictures and see how long it takes me…
Hooray for some new space! Hoping your serger is up and running soon. 🙂
Great sewing room with lots of storage!
