Me Me Me Month
Let’s start of Me Me Me Month with some random ramblings about myself.
I’m a chemical engineer by training, and am normally shy about talking about myself, but I’ll try my best.
I started Cook Clean Craft in March last year to have something just for me. At that time, I had a 13 month old son and was pregnant with Number 2 and felt “Me Me Me” was getting lost amongst my roles of Mother, Home Manager and Wife (especially with the exhaustion that brings). As with so many others, I fell in love with blogging and love how it gives me the motivation to find time to do the things I enjoy amongst the chaos of being a Stay at Home Mum. Making and creating has always been something I’ve enjoyed and I love being able to share this with others.
So what else is there to know about me? I’m a perfectionist my nature and really struggle to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. When I find something I’m good at, I stick with it. I’m happiest when I’m learning though, so I do like to build my skills with what I do well. This also makes me love reading. I was a book worm as a kid, borrowing huge piles of books from the library as a kid (although a lot of it was Babysitters’ Club and Sweet Valley High, so not exactly fine literature). I usually have a couple of books on my bedside table and read to unwind at the end of the day. I’ll read almost anything (any good book suggestions?).
I’ve always been reasonably athletic, playing mostly netball as a kid (and continuing on with social netball into by late 20s). When I got sick of the commitment required for team sports, I got into running and ran a half marathon a few years ago. I don’t really have a love of running though, and it has fallen by the wayside in recent years. I also got into yoga and that has been great to learn how to enjoy doing something I’m hopeless at (I can barely touch halfway down my shins, let alone my toes!).
These days, my family is the centre of my life with Dave, my supportive, loving (and quite handsome) husband and my two adorable kids filling my days with laughter and fun (and frustration and tears as well, but I try to be positive!).
Well that’s enough ramblings for one day. What else would you like to know about me?
P.S. No, I can’t find any photos I like of just me!
No questions per se, but it is really fun to see the face behind the blog. 🙂
Totally hear you on The Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High. I had no idea those books were popular in Australia! Funny!
Great books to read: I HIGHLY recommend Thorn in My Heart by Liz Curtis Higgs and of course, the other two books in that series, Fair is the Rose and Whence Came a Prince. I also LOVED her book series: Here Burns My Candle and Mine is the Night.
Lovely pics!
