More Travel Art Kits
After the success of the travel art kits I made for my kids (Jacob’s here with the tutorial and Celeste’s here), I thought they’d make great Christmas gifts for my two nieces (who are five months younger than my two).
Searching through my stash, I found Happy Flowers in Blue from the Birdie range by Me & My Sister Designs for Moda (typing fabric names is exhausting!).
This time around, since I was using the same fabric for both, I appliqued an initial on the front (don’t want any arguments about which one belongs to who!).
I’m glad I keep a stash of markers and pads in my “gift box”. So easy to make a quick present. The girls got straight into drawing when they unwrapped them on Christmas Day.
When I was making them, Celeste got upset that I wasn’t sewing for her, so I made a skirt with the leftover fabric:
It’s the standard rectangle skirt with elastic waist, trimmed with bias tape along the bottom hem for a bit of interest (leftover from this dress).
If you’d like to make your own, the drawing kit tutorial is here.
Did you make any Christmas presents?
I think I’m jealous… I’ll let you know when I know for sure (I grew up like that – my aunt was always making us stuff and whipping things up).
